Why Is There A Need For Protection Bill In Pakistan:

  • Women must be protected as they bring up our future generation
  • In 2010, 25% of the female victims of sexual assault were victimized by people they did not know

What Is Done Under The Protection Bill:

  • A complaint can be addressed to the Police any time of the day by a women against men who disrespect
  • This Complaint will be filed up and will be recorded
  • More school are being set up in the rural areas to encourage women to go to school
  • Protection Officers are hired which will be notified in case of anything disrespectful against women
  • Men who offer resistance against the Protection Officers will be punishable by upto six months in jail with a fine of Rs500,000
  • The law will not allow any women to be forced to leave the house
  • Darul Aman and protections centres will be setup
  • Shelter homes will be built
  • The defendant will be liable to bear all the expenses of the complainant women
  • If ordered by the court, defendants can be cuffed with GPS tracking bracelets in order to make sure they do not go near the woman they assaulted
  • An attempt to remove the bracelet will lead to a heavy fine
  • Defendants will not be allowed to apply for an arms license or procure weapons whereas weapons already registered in their name will have to be submitted in court.
